The Society usually holds an Awards Evening and AGM in early summer in line with the constitution, to which subscribing members, prospective members, and guests are invited.  We aim to choose a venue that has recently won one of our awards, if suitable and available. 

After the brief AGM formalities, agreeing last year’s minutes and the accounts, elections are made for the Officers, followed by presentation of our annual awards, often by our patron, the Mayor of the borough. We invite a guest speaker to talk on a subject of local interest. The chairman customarily presents a review of his annual report covering key projects and events, after which we offer the audience a chance to ask questions. Finally we hold a convivial drinks reception where the discussions can continue informally.
